Mutual Aid Network

Mutual aid, as defined by the Mutual Aid Coop, is cooperation for the common good. The basis of mutual aid is to foster community and by doing so, allowing that community to support themselves when the state has failed them. However, mutual aid is truly definition-less. It is an idea and a system of cooperation that works horizontally, without hierarchy, to fulfill a need in a community.

Here on the Palouse, members of the community have developed a mutual aid network to support several different needs. These groups include food insecurity support, prisoner support, immigration and migrant support, disability and healthcare justice, DIY and skill-share , cyber security and housing support. If you would like to join the listserv email chain to be in touch with this group, email palouse-request@lists.riseup.net.
